EINSTEIN - WE ARE STARDUST
2020 | Bronx, New York
Laurel Porcari, an Oregon-based artist who focuses on large-scale commissions for public and private institutions, conceptualized a glass art feature wall for the Montefiore Medical Center’s Einstein Hospital Weiler Lobby, located in the Bronx, New York. The wall, made of fused art glass and stainless steel, stands 13 feet wide, 11 feet tall, and 8 feet deep, with a curved shape that softens the lobby’s corner.
Laurel engaged MADE to assist with the renderings, connection detail development, and metal shop drawings. MADE also prepared files for CNC fabrication of the stainless steel jacket. Working collaboratively, Laurel’s artistic vision was realized, with MADE ensuring a technically sound installation and construction process.
