The clients, a retired married couple living near the New Orleans marina, wanted to develop an outdoor cabana space specifically tailored to their passion for cooking and entertaining. To meet their needs, MADE designed a contemporary outdoor kitchen and dining space, complete with an outdoor grill, stovetop, oven, cabinetry, and a large marble-top table perfect for crawfish boils.

The layout within the 650-square-foot space promotes an easy exchange between the cook and the crowd. Folding IPE wood slats serve multiple purposes aesthetically and practically, by creating privacy from neighbors at the northern edge of the site, shielding the southern sun, and focusing views toward the eastern levee of Lake Pontchartrain.
